Yingguo Zhu, Ph.D. 【 朱英国院士】

朱英国院士,植物遗传学专家,武汉大学教授、博士生导师、国家重点学科发育生物学负责人、国家级有突出贡献专家、湖北省遗传学会理事长,武汉生命之美科技有限公司首席专家顾问。出生于湖北省罗田县。1964 年毕业于武汉大学,获学士学位。

朱英国教授40年来坚持水稻雄性不育与杂交优势利用研究,二十世纪70年代初利用华南普通野生稻与栽培杂交合作育成红莲型水稻不育系及红莲型杂交稻,80年代中期利用农家品种马尾粘中发现的败育株与协青早选杂交选育出马协不育系和马协型杂交稻。克隆了红莲型不育基因,发现并定位了红莲型恢复基因Rf5和Rf6;在水稻雄性不育的基础生物学方面形成了自己的特色。合著有《水稻雄性不育生物学》等专著四部,发表研究论文160余篇,其中SCI 收录33篇。曾承担过国家863项目、国家转基因专项、国家和省级攻关项目、国家自然科学基金和省部级重点项目多项。获得国家发明二等奖、湖北生科技进步一等奖等多项奖励,曾被评为国家级有突出贡献的中青年专家及国家973计划先进个人和全国师德先进个人等荣誉称号。2005 年当选为中国工程院院士。

David Lilley博士, 英国皇家科学院院士,英国癌症研究所核酸结构研究组主任,邓肯大学分子生物学教授,武汉生命之美科技有限公司专家顾问。曾获英国皇家化学学会跨学科奖,RNA和核酸化学奖,捷克科学院孟德尔金奖等重大奖项。Lilley博士是核酸结构与功能领域的权威专家,主要研究核酸双螺旋结构的分支点及其蛋白的识别位点,包括:DNA 交叉、DNA交叉与蛋白的相互作用、RNA中的螺旋交叉结构、核酶等方面。这方面的研究在DNA重组及修复、RNA的结构方面具有非常重要的意义。

Cate is interested in protein synthesis and renewable energy. He has been dedicated to Structural Biology, Biophysical Chemistry and Systems Biology, which are the mechanisms of the regulation of human translation, bacterial protein synthesis. His research on the structure of E.coli 70S ribosome has been published in Science. His Lab explores how genes are put into action by translation. Translation is the universal process of protein synthesis, in which the ribosome translates the four-letter genetic code in messenger RNA into the twenty-letter code of proteins. The lab also works on strategies for making renewable energy and chemicals from plants.
